We were hit by a fairly big earthquake a couple nights ago. The epicenter wasn't too far from my area, so we got quite the jolt. My family, J, and I were at a restaurant when the big jolt hit; glass flew everywhere, things fell from the ceiling, and people screamed and ran all over (which made it even more frightening). I'm deathly afraid of earthquakes, so I've certainly been on edge lately. It has got to be the one and only thing I hate about California. Seriously, I'll take traffic on the 405 over a scary earthquake! Luckily, we didn't have too much damage, but we got off easy compared to some of my friends who had structural damage, shattered windows, and broken ceilings. Yes, I know that I should be expecting these kinds of things as I have lived in California my whole life, but I don't ever think I'll be used to it. There were several aftershocks throughout the day, and while earthquakes aren't predictable, it's good to be prepared in the event that "the big one" hits.
Note to self and all Californians: Keep an emergency kit ready! Have enough water and food, and don't forget to have a flashlight (charged and ready), radio, and blankets ready. Don't forget about your furry friends either! Stock up on enough food and water to keep them safe as well. I've heard dogs can only live so long with out water, so if you can get a water bin that suctions to the ground (so it won't tip over), it would be ideal.
I woke up early to head to rugby. It was an absolutely gorgeous day....I'm so grateful for CA weather. I had Panda Express as a late lunch after rugby (remember, you can substitute your chow mein or fried rice for steamed vegetables...yum!) and that filled me up for quite a while. I wasn't feeling too hungry, so for dinner tonight I just had my famous Greek yogurt with chia seeds and bananas. Unbelievably easy to make, healthy, and filling.

Things have been quite crazy in my neck of the woods lately, but in a great way. I'm prepping for graduation (!!!), juggling school work, and was actually just given a great job offer. While things are chaotic, they certainly are falling into place. I'm keen on seeing what wonderful things my future brings me.
Hope your week is starting out well!
