Although winter in California is typically bearable, it's been unusually cold (by our standards, at least) recently. The harsh weather can cause your skin to be dry, chapped, and flaky.
The number one rule is to stay hydrated! Even in warm weather, chapped lips are a sign of dehydration. Drink up, friends!
I don't wear makeup, but I still feel the need to take care of my skin, particularly when it's cold.
I use Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm (one) even on hot days. I love the mango flavor so much that sometimes I wish I could eat it! It's small enough to fit in your pocket or purse and the cap is easily opened and closed.
Due to the fact that Vaseline seems to stain my face (does anyone else have this problem?), I only use the Vaseline Lip Therapy (two). I'm typically not a fan of Cherry, but the taste is bearable and it makes a significant difference in the texture of my lips. Sometimes I layer it over the Burt's Bees for the extra lip protection.
It's hard for me to wake up without hot water, so one of the easiest ways for me to become alert is to wash my face with warm water and Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Wash (three). I only use a small quarter-sized amount, which means the tube lasts for a long time! I feel much more refreshed and ready to take on the day.
There's something magical about silky skin and Lubriderm Daily Moisture (four) is my go-to for face and body lotion. It keeps my skin smooth and shiny. Even more, it doesn't sweat off like other lotions. It isn't too viscous and is easy to apply on your face, hands, legs, or wherever you have dry skin.
What kinds of products should I try? How do you keep your face healthy in this cold?
Hoping for clear skies & even clearer skin,
Nats
